This analysis reveals high reproducibility of whole-cerebrum PCASL at 5T MRI in patients with moyamoya disease, indicating its potential for assessing cerebrovascular health.
Motivation: The ultra-high field of 5T MRI system may be a balanced choice for SNR and inversion efficiency in PCASL imaging. Goal(s): Achieve whole-cerebrum PCASL imaging at ultra-high field 5T MRI system, assess the reproducibility and preliminarily explore its clinical application in moyamoya disease/syndrome. Approach: Twenty healthy volunteers were performed with single-delay and multi-delay PCASL sequences twice for reproducibility analysis. Twenty-six patients with moyamoya disease/syndrome were underwent multi-delay PCASL. Results: Uncorrected CBF, corrected CBF and ATT showed excellent reliability in all regions especially in regions with heterogeneous transit time. In patients with moyamoya disease/syndrome, those with higher ACA or MCA scores exhibited lower cCBF. Impact: Whole-Cerebrum PCASL imaging at 5T ultra-high field offers a promising tool in the assessment of hemodynamic conditions in cerebrovascular diseases.
