Prospective cohort study shows correlation between susceptibility values and cognitive impairment in preeclampsia, highlighting diagnostic implications.
Motivation: This study aims to investigate alterations in susceptibility values obtained from quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) of the striatum in patients with preeclampsia, focusing on the correlation between these alterations and cognitive impairment. Goal(s): The objective is to clarify the relationship between susceptibility values and cognitive impairment in preeclampsia patients, as well as to explore the associated contributing factors. Approach: Prospective cohort study Results: Our study revealed higher susceptibility values of nucleus accumbens(NAc) in preeclampsia patients. A correlation between the susceptibility values and a decline in executive function was observed. Impact: This study introduces a novel indicator that utilizes QSM techniques for early prediction of preeclampsia and associated cognitive impairment, potentially improving diagnostic accuracy and intervention strategies.
