Abstract

Motivation: Brain glioma is the most common malignant tumor of the central nervous system, with high recurrence and mortality. Treatment and prognosis are related to tumor grade, but conventional MRI has limited specificity. Non-invasive MRI techniques for grading are essential. Goal(s): To evaluate the application of APT imaging and MRS in preoperative glioma grading. Approach: A prospective study to assess APT and MRS in differentiating high-grade from low-grade gliomas. Results: HGG showed higher relative mean APT, Cho/Cr, and Cho/NAA values than LGG. The study showed that the solid components of HGG exhibited higher relative mean APT, Cho/Cr, and Cho/NAA values compared to LGG. Impact: APT and MRS can predict glioma grade preoperatively. This study suggests that APT and MRS can be used to predict glioma grade preoperatively, providing clinicians with important information for planning treatment strategies and assessing prognosis.
