This review examines entanglement-enabled fault detection in quantum networks, indicating future research avenues.
This work provides an in-depth survey of self healing processes in quantum networks, with emphasis onfault detection and recovery approaches enabled by entanglement. With increasing importance of quantumcommunication networks in secure data transfer and distributed computation, maintaining networkrobustness against decoherence, noise, and hardware failure is vital. We examine major developments inentanglement based diagnostics, quantum error correction, adaptive routing, and machine learning basedcontrol systems. Besides studying present architectures and experimental deployments ranging fromterrestrial to satellite based networks we lay out technical challenges, resource trade of s, and avenues for future research. Our review will act as a reference point for researchers and practitioners to design faulttolerant and scalable quantum network infrastructures.
