This article addresses some contradictions present in land regularization programs, especially those related to the intermediate tenure documents involved in these processes. To this end, it analyzes a case of relocation of families into a land regularization program in the city of Santa Fe, Argentina. Through combined qualitative and quantitative methods and personal interviews, it discusses the contradictions present in this policy, especially regarding the granting of intermediate tenure documents to families. It reflects that, despite the program reproducing situations of partial land regularization that contradict its discourse on the consolidation of definitive tenure, the families involved have taken initiatives to improve their quality of life, especially in relation to their housing conditions
