This project implements proton beam therapy to treat tumors near critical organs, highlighting its efficiency.
Proton beam therapy occupies a special place in external beam radiation therapy. In particu-lar, proton beam therapy shows exceptional efficiency in the treatment of tumors located near critical organs, such as the optic nerve or the brain stem. The article presents the results of work on the implementation of a multifunctional facility with a fixed direction of the proton beam for proton radiation therapy, in particular, the layout of the equipment for the imple-mentation of the facility in two modes is discussed – an active scanning and a passive scatter-ing. The current results of the development of the beam delivery system and the system for control of the proton beam profiles are presented.
