Determination of the expression of endothelial (eNOS) and inducible NO synthase (iNOS) in human colon adenocarcinomas showed a high frequency of their detection with a low or mod-erate degree of immunoreactivity to antibodies of isoenzymes. The presence of distant metas-tases or metastases in the lymph nodes increases the likelihood of increased expression of iN-OS and eNOS in adjacent tissues. Low or moderate levels of isoenzyme expression can con-tribute to tumor progression.
