This analysis examines AI's role in monitoring forests, utilizing remote sensing and satellite data to enhance ecosystem management.
The article discusses modern methods of monitoring and rehabilitation of forest ecosystems in the Moscow region with an emphasis on the integration of artifi cial intelligence and various remote sensing technologies. The possibilities of using AI to process satellite monitoring data, unmanned aerial vehicles and ground systems, as well as the features of their use in the region, are analyzed. The relevance of an integrated approach that combines multisensory data and intelligent algorithms for multi-scale and rapid detection of disturbances, degradation and pathological changes in forest stands is substantiated, which contributes to the eff ective management and restoration of forest ecosystems. The need to create a methodology for assessing the digital maturity of maintenance and repair processes and determining priority areas for digitalization was discussed.
