Functional and semantic features of disbursement in English and Uzbek media, highlighting key differences.
This article investigates the functional and semantic features of the term disbursement and its equivalents in political-administrative discourse across English and Uzbek media. The analysis identifies semantic shifts, pragmatic functions, and contextual realizations of disbursement as it appears in news reports, political commentary, and administrative documents. The findings reveal that while English-language media employs disbursement in both narrow (financial allocation) and broader (distribution of resources, funds, or aid) senses, Uzbek media discourse tends to use equivalent terms (ajratma, mablag‘ taqsimoti, resurslarni taqsimlash) in more pragmatic and politically loaded contexts. This comparative approach contributes to a deeper understanding of political-administrative terminology in multilingual media landscapes.
