Demonstration of bidirectional cascade air lasing using nitrogen to argon photon exchange, suggesting new remote sensing applications.
We demonstrated bidirectional cascade air lasing enabled by resonant third harmonic photon exchange from nitrogen to argon. Such cascaded lasing with the capability of producing bidirectional multicolor pulses opens additional possibilities for remote sensing applications.
