Demonstrates properties of plasma photonic structures, indicating their effectiveness for high power lasers.
Plasma is a robust medium for manipulating intense laser pulses. Plasma photonic structures are formed by ballistic motion of ions, which gain momentum from space charge fields of layered electrons. We demonstrate some of their properties, including birefringence, lensing, high-efficiency reflection, and amplification.
