Qualitative analysis shows gender equality enhances inclusive education and reduces violence in schools, emphasizing community roles.
Gender equality is a fundamental issue in the development of inclusive education that continues to face significant challenges, particularly in Indonesia. This article aims to analyze the role of gender equality in eliminating stereotypes, preventing sexual violence, and strengthening the synergy of schools, families, and communities in building just and equitable character education. This study employed a qualitative library research approach using thematic content analysis of literature, regulations, and previous research findings. The results indicate that gender equality is not only related to women’s rights but also serves as a key pillar in constructing an educational system that ensures equal participation for all children without discrimination. Gender stereotypes and sexual violence in educational settings have been shown to hinder student development, thus requiring comprehensive strategies through gender-responsive curriculum reform, teacher training, and family education that emphasizes fair role distribution. Furthermore, communities play a strategic role in reinforcing the values of equality instilled in schools and families. Therefore, cross-sectoral collaboration is essential in creating an inclusive, tolerant, and gender-equitable educational ecosystem.
