Experimental analysis reveals how electromagnetic pulses affect biosensor stability in bovine albumin solutions, suggesting implications for sensor reliability.
During the work, a specially constructed measuring system was used to examine the loss of stability of the receptor layer components of biosensors based on changes in the shape of the electromagnetic pulse and the absorption coefficient. The tests showed changes in the shape and amplitude of the pulse after it passed through the tested substances. These changes depended on the type of substance and the frequency of the pulse and electromagnetic field. Slight differences in the pulse shape were observed after passing through the tested substances (for different aqueous solutions of bovine albumin – fresh and two months old). Absorption coefficients were determined for a one-day-old solution and for solutions aged 53, 58, 60, 63, 65 days. Studies on conformational changes in the protein over time showed possible structural changes as a result of denaturation and aggregation processes.
