Survey reveals trends in gender and generational attitudes towards morality and healthcare.
Today, there is increasing talk about the substitution of spiritual values for hedonistic values, the desire for physical improvement of man and spiritual and moral degradation of the individual. Biotechnology is developing and widely introduced into medical practice. Social institutions of culture and religion are being replaced by transhumanist ideology, proclaiming a new religion in which man and artificial intelligence are able to decide fate by changing their body and consciousness. As a result, there is a decline in morality and ethics, human life is devalued. Despite the existing publications on this issue, there are practically no studies on the opinion of consumers of medical services. In such a situation, the relevance of studying the spiritual and moral characteristics of one of the participants in the treatment and diagnostic process, which became the purpose of this study, is beyond doubt. To study the problem, a survey was conducted, in which 513 patients took part. As a result of the study, the main trends in the influence of gender and generational characteristics on the population's ideas about religion, morality and medicine were identified. It should be noted that there are signs of similarity and difference in gender perception of the issues under analysis. Women are statistically significantly more likely than men to think about moral issues, advocate for the preservation of traditional values, and support the preservation of the physician's oath.
