A new PLL design improves dynamic tracking in permanent magnet synchronous motors, suggesting enhanced system stability and robustness.
When a traditional phase-locked loop (PLL) is utilized as a position tracking mechanism, significant dynamic tracking errors may occur during motor acceleration, deceleration, or under sudden disturbances. These errors can compromise system robustness and stability. Given the issues associated with conventional PLL control in permanent magnet synchronous motors, such as complex computational requirements, poor stability, and high sensitivity to system parameters, an improved PLL structure based on voltage utilization rate is proposed to enhance overall control performance. To address these challenges, this paper introduces a third-order three-type phase-locked loop. By appropriately configuring the poles and zeros of the PLL system, dynamic tracking errors can be rapidly and effectively mitigated while maintaining excellent system stability and robustness. A control system is established, and the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed approach are validated through vehicle testing.
