Numerical simulations revealed reduced jet interference in laminated charge chambers, suggesting improved safety performance.
To assess the practicality of the laminated plate chamber in safety protection, a novel laminated charge chamber structure was devised. Utilizing AUTODYN software, numerical simulations were conducted on the detonation process and jet penetration resistance of the flat chamber. A comparative analysis was undertaken, comparing the detonation motion of the laminated charge with that of a uniformly dense flat chamber. This allowed us to discern the effects of laminated charge arrangement and density disparities on plate movement, deformation, and jet interference. Our findings revealed that, following detonation, the plate deformation in the laminated charge flat chamber was more pronounced than in the uniformly dense chamber, leading to a more significant jet interference. Furthermore, as the density difference within the laminated charge increased, both plate deformation and jet interference intensified. Specifically, with a fixed charge amount, a density difference of 0.4 g/cm 3 in the laminated charge optimized jet interference, particularly when the upper layer consisted of low-density charge. Additionally, tests evaluating the anti-armor performance of the laminated charge flat chamber indicated a notable improvement in protective capabilities compared to the uniformly dense chamber. The maximum increase in jet penetration depth was recorded at 25.5%. These test results aligned closely with our numerical simulations, confirming the reliability of our research methodology. In conclusion, our study offers valuable insights for the design and implementation of various safety protection devices, highlighting the potential benefits of laminated charge configurations.
