Melt-quenching process improves photoluminescence in glass-ceramics, suggesting better water resistance.
High-performance SrAl 2 O 4 :Eu 2+ , Dy 3+ glass-ceramics, demonstrating substantial photoluminescence were fabricated via melt-quenching, achieving in situ precipitation of strontium aluminate crystals within the glass matrix. Phase composition and crystalline morphology were systematically characterized, with SEM analyses confirming the embedded growth of SrAl 2 O 4 crystals. The glass phase exhibits dual functionality: it effectively inhibits hydrolysis of the crystalline phase and enhances aqueous stability. Photoluminescence spectral analysis reveals an inverse correlation between SiO 2 content and luminescence/long persistent luminescence performance, though elevated SiO 2 concentrations improve vitrification efficiency.
