Synthesis of novel ionic liquids improves aldehyde selectivity in 1-octene hydroformylation, indicating potential for efficient catalysis.
A monophosphine TPPTS-functionalized polyether imidazolium-based ionic liquid 1 and a bisphosphine SulfoXantphos-functionalized polyether imidazolium-based ionic liquid 2 were synthesized. These synthesized phosphine functionalized polyether imidazolium-based ionic liquids (P-PEIMILs) molecular structures were confirmed to be correct through characterization methods such as 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, and 31 P NMR. They could form catalysts by complexation with transition metals and serve as catalyst carriers, reducing the amount of catalyst used. Therefore, we applied them to the ionic liquid two-phase 1-octene hydroformylation system. The results showed that the aldehyde chemoselectivity of Rh- 1 catalyzed 1-octene was 95.2 %, the regioselectivity of linear aldehyde was 73.0 %, the TOF 30 value was 976.9 h −1 , and the catalytic activity was much higher than 2 .
