Analysis shows energy service models improve energy efficiency in public buildings, indicating better sustainability practices.
Nowadays, innovative business models in energy are becoming key to improving the efficiency and sustainability of public buildings. With a focus on reducing costs and increasing energy efficiency, these models enable authorities to optimize resources while promoting sustainable practices. Energy service models offer many advantages for public institutions, including reduction of operating costs, access to technical expertise, minimization of financial risk, increase in sustainability, as well as long-term planning and maintenance. These partnerships not only enable institutions to use more energy-efficient resources, but also to achieve environmental goals, thus contributing to a sustainable future. That is why energy service models are of key importance for the improvement of energy systems in the public sector, thus providing better service to citizens with a smaller ecological footprint. Public institutions can use different methods to measure the success of implementing energy service models, including defining key success indicators, questionnaires and surveys, cost-benefi t analysis, consumption monitoring and long-term analyses. These methods allow institutions to not only assess the effectiveness of their energy models, but also identify areas for improvement. This research sheds light on various aspects of innovative business models in energy, especially how they affect public buildings, with special emphasis on examples from the world and Serbia.
