Research reveals enhanced mechanical properties in austenitic steel via selective laser fusion, suggesting improved structural integrity.
The structure, mechanical properties, and fracture features of 12X18H10T austenitic steel samples obtained by selective laser fusion (SLS) under various technological parameters and process strategies are studied. It has been established that the zone strategy of SLS (synthesis by separate square zones) provides a slightly lower structural defect and a better set of mechanical properties. At the same time, regardless of the implementation option, the SLS method makes it possible to obtain products with a strength three times greater than that of cast or forged semi-finished products made of the same steel with comparable ductility.
