Abstract Endocrine immune related adverse events (irAEs) are a particular challenge in use of cancer immunotherapy, particularly immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). The frequency of endocrine irAEs ranges from common (thyroid) to less common (hypophysitis and diabetes). In contrast to other irAEs, endocrine irAEs are nearly always permanent and can occur even years after ICI initiation. ICIs have enable patients to acheive durable responses to formerly fatal metastatic cancers and have increasingly been introduced to earlier stages of cancer. Simultaneously, endocrine irAEs have been linked to these better responses. In combination, these features translate to a prominent role for endocrine irAE prediction and prevention to optimize survivorship. Citation Format: Zoe Quandt.
