This study reveals bamboo fiber composites' potency in EMI shielding and eco-friendly attributes, suggesting a sustainable approach to plastic pollution.
Plant fiber‐based porous composites with electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding capabilities provide a sustainable solution to mitigate electromagnetic and plastic pollution. In this study, bamboo processing residues were recycled and processed into bamboo fibers and bamboo charcoals, which were subsequently combined with waterborne epoxy resin to fabricate bamboo fiber porous composites (BPCs). BPCs, endowed with dense conductive networks and abundant pore structures, exhibited an EMI shielding effectiveness of up to 46.9 dB, an absorption shielding effectiveness of 45.7 dB, and electromagnetic waves absorbance exceeding 75%, outperforming traditional reflective EMI shielding materials. BPCs also demonstrated excellent compressive properties and wet/thermal stability, allowing them to withstand extreme environments. Converting bamboo processing residues into BPCs not only enabled their high‐value utilization but also contributed significantly to sustainable development. The EMI shielding performance and eco‐friendly nature of the BPCs met the demands for “green shielding” in the 5G era.
