This analysis reveals optimal conditions for mixing tanks using CFD, suggesting significant cost reductions and improved product conversion rates.
Mixing tanks are crucial in industries such as chemical processing and biophar-maceutical production. This study uses CFD to model batch reactors for solid-like suspensions with catalysts. Key findings include the optimal operating conditions of 20 rpm and a mixture composition of 40% dimethylamine, 59% heavy fuel oil No. 2, and 0.6% micro-spherical catalyst. This configuration reduces costs by tenfold while significantly enhancing product conversion rates.
