Abstract

Abstract We propose a broadband polarization beam splitter (PBS) based on dual hollow-core anti-resonant fibers, and conducted an optimized analysis of its structural parameters. Two fiber cores are symmetric about the x-axis of the fiber cross-section and are encircled by pear-shaped nested united tubes and six nested tubes. The significant performance advantages achieved, including the wide wavelength of 530 nm (1370 nm to 1900 nm), the short coupling length (LC) of 5.49 cm, and the excellent low confinement loss (LP01 loss) of 0.26 dB/m at 1550 nm. Within the transmission bandwidth, the polarization extinction ratio (PER) of the PBS is measured to be below -20 dB, while the high-order mode extinction ratio (HOMER) exceeds 100. The LP01 confinement loss is 0.26 dB/m at 1550 nm.
