Numerical experiment reveals enhanced accuracy in rolling force calculations for aluminum alloys, suggesting improved methodologies.
The results of a numerical experiment based on the DEFORM 3D software product are presented. The statistical base of the calculated rolling forces has been obtained depending on the nature of aluminum-magnesium alloys, rolling temperature, geometry of the deformation zone and rotation speed of the working rolls. The rheological properties of the alloys were specified on the basis of an experimental study at the Gleeble 3800 installation. Analysis of the database and its processing by means of mathematical statistics made possible to develop a mathematical model for calculating the rolling force. The developed model was tested for adequacy on the basis of experimental data of rolling in industrial conditions. Comparison with the known methods of calculating the rolling force showed an increased accuracy of calculations made using the developed model.
