Analysis highlights nanoparticle drug delivery's advantages in pharmacotherapy, suggesting further exploration of their toxicity issues.
Nanotechnology is widely used in many areas of human activity. Thanks to nanopreparations, medicine has been able to advance the treatment of many diseases and reduce the toxicity of existing drugs, and they are also used to improve modern diagnostic methods. Thus, nanoparticles are a promising object for further study. There are a large number of different classifications of nanoparticles: by chemical composition, shape, condition and size, origin and toxicity. These drugs have certain advantages and disadvantages. Such drugs allow the active substance to be delivered directly to the target tissue. On the other hand, the negative effects of nanoparticles are associated with cytotoxic, inflammatory and allergic effects. The purpose of the study is to analyze relevant literature, systematize information on the development and use of nanoparticles in pharmacotherapy to replenish the scientific base and further develop the field.
