Research demonstrates that neochlorella exometabolites enhance growth in flax sprouts, highlighting their potential for producing biologically active compounds.
Flax is a unique multipurpose crop used to obtain highly nutritious oil, fiber and its derivatives, as well as pharmacologically valuable metabolites, including phenolic compounds (PC). Currently, much interest is paid to flax sprouts (microgreens) as potential producers of biologically active compounds. For these purposes, the influence of various biotic factors is used, including microalgae exometabolites. This allows obtaining functional food products enriched with biologically active compounds for public health. The possibility of obtaining flax sprouts on a hydroponic installation developed at the IPF RAS (Microalgae Biotechnology Laboratory) with modulation of its filling with an aqueous solution containing of microalgae exometabolites is demonstrated. The effect of neochlorella exometabolites (Neochlorella semenenkoi IPPAS C-1210) on the morphometric and biochemical parameters of flax sprouts (Sursky variety) is studied. Their stimulating effect on the growth characteristics of microgreens and the accumulation of PS was revealed.
