Salvage excavation uncovered tobacco pipes in Yafo, suggesting insights into local daily life and trade.
In November–December 2021, a salvage excavation was conducted at 14 Yehuda Ha-Yammit Street in Yafo (Permit No. A-9161; map ref. 177257–88/661939–54; Fig. 1) prior to development and construction work. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by Ken-Hator Ltd., was directed by A. Massarwa, with the assistance of Y. Amrani and Z. Lotan (administration), I.
