Analysis demonstrates the crystal structure and optical properties of bis-thiourea sodium iodide, indicating its potential applications.
Bis-thiourea sodium iodide (BTSI) single crystals were successfully grown from an aqueous solution using the slow evaporation technique at room temperature. The crystalline phase and purity were confirmed through X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The presence of functional groups was identified using Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Optical suitability was assessed by UV-Vis-NIR spectral studies. Surface morphology and structural defects of the grown crystals were examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Thermal behavior, including stability and melting point, was evaluated through thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA). In addition, the dielectric constant was measured as a function of frequency at room temperature to explore the electrical characteristics of the crystal.
