A total of 499 species and 9 subspecies, including one fossil species, across 16 genera are listed. Aphanocephalus takaoensis nom. nov. is given for A. sauteri John, 1971 (nec A. pubescens sauteri John, 1956). Aphanocephalus superbus Pal, 1996 is transferred to the genus Parafallia Arrow, 1939.
