The study finds refined solubility parameters in polymers and elastomers, suggesting improved compatibility and performance.
The study presents a comprehensive database of three‐dimensional solubility parameters (3DSPs) for a variety of monomers, additives, and reagents utilized in the formulation of polymers and elastomers. These 3DSPs were evaluated and refined using physicochemical parameters, including surface tension, dielectric constant, dipole moment, and molar refraction (MR). The database aims to enhance the predictability of polymer and elastomer compatibility, essential for creating thermodynamically stable and high‐performance materials. By employing the DiPEVa model, which adjusts 3DSP for surface tension and incorporates new additional physicochemical correlations, the study provides a more accurate estimation of the solubility parameters. The findings demonstrate the utility of 3DSPs in predicting the behavior of polymer blends, emulsions, and the compatibility of various reagents, thus contributing significantly to the development of advanced materials in polymer science.
