Taxonomic revision identifies ten species in Callimerus, including new species and synonyms.
This study revises the prasinatus species group of the genus Callimerus (Coleoptera, Cleridae), sensu Stenocallimerus Corporaal & Pic, 1940. Ten species are recognized, including one new species, Callimerus modestus sp. nov., from northeastern Vietnam. Two new synonyms are proposed for C. koenigi Pic, 1954 (C. koenigi var. subattenuatus Pic, 1954 syn. nov.; C. taiwanus Miyatake, 1965 syn. nov.), and two for C. prasinatus Lewis, 1896 (C. bicoloripes Pic, 1925 syn. nov.; C. sauteri Corporaal & Pic, 1940 syn. nov.). Callimerus filiformis Gorham, 1903 is excluded from this species group. An identification key is presented, accompanied by illustrations of the type specimens’ habitus, male terminalia, and other diagnostic characters. This revision refines the taxonomy of prasinatus species group and offers a foundation for future research on the group.
