Analysis reveals persistent production potential in JSC Ukrposhta, suggesting improvements are necessary for growth post-conflict.
The publication presents the results of the analysis of economic activity of enterprise in modern conditions on the example of JSC “Ukrposhta”. The most common definitions of the concept of “production potential” based on the study of scientific literature are presented. The publication searches for a definition of the concept of “recovery economy” in foreign and Ukrainian economic dictionaries. In this regard, the relevance of research and identification of directions for improving the management of production potential in Ukraine in the context of the recovery economy is determined. The publication reflects the views of Ukrainian scientists on the directions of post-war economic recovery in Ukraine. The publication analyzes the indicators of the enterprise's performance during 2021-2024, which makes it possible to consider the period both before and after the full-scale aggression. Considerable attention is paid to the analysis of the composition and structure of the production potential of the enterprise. The authors consider the speed of recovery of enterprises after significant damage and prove that these terms depend on the type and size of the enterprise, since large companies distribute their risks by operating in several locations and have a larger number of employees involved in the recovery process. The financial and economic activities of JSC “Ukrposhta” for 2021-2024 are analyzed. Using the method of comparative analysis, it is found that the indicators of production potential have remained almost unchanged for four years. The gradual increase in the depreciation rate to 49% indicates the need to renew almost half of the fixed assets. The indicators of capital productivity and material efficiency are gradually decreasing. The return on fixed assets remained negative in 2022-2024, mainly due to depreciation and obsolescence of fixed assets. The results indicate the need to continuously analyze the production potential of the enterprise and develop methods to improve it. Assessment and efficient use of productive capacity is very important in periods of economic recovery, when enterprises are trying to overcome the effects of crises, adapt to new conditions and resume their operations. In the context of significant shocks, such as armed conflicts, the assessment and restoration of productive capacity becomes even more important, as it is critical to ensuring economic growth and stability.
