Experimental study reveals enhanced magneto mechanical properties in elastomers with carbonyl iron under dynamic loads.
Polyurethane-based magnetorheological elastomer samples were prepared by adding carbonyl iron powder to the polyurethane matrix, and the magnetomechanical properties of the samples were tested under dynamic compression and dynamic shear loading. The results show that the specimen can be changed under the external magnetic field, which helps improve its dynamic sealing performance.
