Analysis reports upper limits on isotropic neutrino fluxes in Lake Baikal, suggesting further exploration for ultra-high energy events.
Baikal Gigaton Volume Detector (Baikal-GVD) is a cubic-kilometer scale underwater neutrino telescope currently under construction in Lake Baikal. The detector layout is optimized for the measurement of astrophysical neutrinos with energies of ~100 TeV and above. Recently, a similar neutrino telescope, KM3NeT, detected a unique, ultra-high energy neutrino event, KM3-230213A. This case proves the possibility of detecting extraterrestrial neutrinos with tremendous energies and allows us to expect to observe similar events at Baikal-GVD. Here we present corresponding upper limits on the isotropic flux of neutrinos in energy range of (1015.5 - 10²⁰)~eV. We also examine the KM3-230213A event as external trigger in our correlation analysis in look for possible features at any energies in tracks and cascades samples of Baikal-GVD for all seasons since 2019.
