The article analyzes the history, importance and current state of the complex of the unique “Topornin’smanor house” of the late 18th — mid 19th centuries. It is located on the outskirts of the village of Kushnarenkovo (formerly, the village of Topornino), the district center of the region of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The manor house is formally standing under state protection as an object of cultural heritage of federal significance, but nowadays it is in disrepair for several decades. The causes of this situation, the general patterns of neglect of cultural heritage objects in the region are determined. The arguments to justify the need for a stage by stage conservation of the object are given in the article. The development of scientific and design documentation and restoration of the manor house complex also as museumification or other forms of adaptation to modern use are offered. An assessment of the possibilities of attracting budgets of various levels for the revival of this complex are given as well as the problems arising from the desire to completely transfer these costs to investors.
