Research develops a 2FA system using OTP for enhanced data security in e-commerce applications, indicating reduced cybercrime risks.
The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to human life, especially in the world of the internet, the internet makes it easier for humans to carry out daily activities and work. However, behind this convenience, it can also increase the threat of cybercrime. This study aims to implement a security system based on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) with One-Time Password (OTP) on Android applications, to protect data from cybercrime such as data theft, Phishing, Ransomware. The research method used is the waterfall model, which contains a system analysis discussing what is needed to build an application with 2FA and OTP security, system design discussing the system flow that will be applied and created, coding discussing how the backend can run the system flow that is created, and implementation discussing the application of previous results. The results of the research obtained are that the application of Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) using One-Time Password (OTP) can improve user data security by providing an additional layer of security that reduces unauthorized access rights, this also provides a safer experience for users of applications that implement it
