Analysis of parental involvement and peer usage reveals links to problematic marijuana use in adolescents.
Background The prevalence of both frequent and problematic marijuana use among adolescents in Chile represents a significant public health challenge. Multiple factors influence the initiation and maintenance of such use, including parental involvement, peer marijuana use, and adolescents' perceived severity of use. This study examined the relationships among parental involvement, peer marijuana use, perceived severity, frequency of use, and problematic marijuana use in a sample of Chilean adolescent users.
