The present study addresses the incidence of traumatic injuries in the abdominal region due to its large exposed area and the presence of vital structures, such as parenchymal organs, hollows and blood vessels, which can significantly alter the clinical outcome depending on the affected organ. For educational purposes, abdominal trauma is classified into two categories: blunt abdominal trauma (TAF) and penetrating abdominal trauma (TAP). Under this bias, the work aims to evaluate post- and intra- operative complications in trauma surgeries in a hospital in Brasilia, highlighting the entities and mechanisms involved in these complications.
