We have analyzed artificial intelligence positioning in public sector in Slovakia. For this purpose, we have the collected data from interviews and analyzed secondary data from official documents. We have focused on the IT sector and the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development, and Informatization of the Slovak Republic activities in past and today. There were several different roles of experts interviewed those represent the major parts of the project life cycle, the strategist, methodologist, initiator/ implementor and operations expert. There are both, the Digital transformation strategy Slovakia 2030, and the Action Plan for Digital Transformation of Slovakia for 2023-2026, with defined measures, in place to strengthen the AI positioning in Slovakia and not only in the public sector area. There are EU supporting materials on AI positioning available. International teams cooperating in EU have the AI experts from Slovakia. AI principles are formulated and are effective. Specific tools are applied to support the knowledge increase and experience with the artificial intelligence of employees in public sector in Slovakia. There are data about examples of projects where AI has been used and implemented as well as listed potential areas for improvement of AI positioning in the public sector in Slovakia.
