Despite the expanding market for senior-targeted products and service design, usability evaluations remain focused on general user standards, often overlooking the specific mental and emotional needs of seniors. This study combined theoretical research with ethnographic methods, such as photo diaries and in-depth interviews with seniors over 70, to identify three key factors: optimistic expectation(whether the product improves quality of life), autonomy(encouraging independent decision-making), and connectedness(feeling socially and emotionally integrated). The research underscores the importance of designthat not only addresses functionality but also prioritizes seniors' emotional and psychological well-being. By incorporating these elements, the study serves as a foundation for future usability validation, helping to create more effective and empathetic products for senior users.
