This study analyzed the system and contents of the information area unit in practical arts textbooks developed during periodic curriculum revisions. The goal is to derive implications and improvement measures that inform future textbook development. The study has several recommendations. First, in practical subjects, the information unit aims to go beyond acquiring information knowledge to focus on its practical application in everyday life. However, past curricula (2007 and 2015) emphasized 'knowledge' over 'function' in learning goals. In contrast, the 2022 revised curriculum stresses technical practice and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, it categorizes content elements into knowledge, understanding, process, function, value, and attitude, emphasizing their balanced integration. Future information area units should be developed with these considerations in mind. Second, in terms of quantity, the revised curricula have increased the number of evaluation items for the information area. In terms of quality, neither “convergence evaluation“ nor “divergence evaluation” should be solely emphasized; a harmonious balance between the two is desirable. Third, this study focused on the system of information area units within all practical arts textbooks developed during periodical curriculum revision. Future research should examine changes in content elements within the information area and variations in expression methods across different textbooks, including the 2022 revised practical textbook to be developed.
