The year 2023 marked the fortieth anniversary of the Marché de la Poésie, held every June, in Paris, with editors, poets, and readers gathered for readings, book deals, and other activities. Many of the works discussed in this year's article represent communities of poets assembled in person or on the page, from Caribbean poets to poet-translators. Community is a theme in the works that examine the collective aspects of language or the many kinds of poems that unite us, "poèmes-rencontres," as James Sacré puts it in Une fin d'après-midi continuée.
