The purpose of this investigation is to use a Buongiorno fluid model to examine the characteristics of a magneto hydrodynamic Casson nanofluid flowing over a nonlinear inclined porous stretching surface under the influence of heat source or sink effects and viscous dissipation. By employing similarity transformations, the governing nonlinear partial differential equations are transformed into a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations, which are numerically solved using Mathematica software. The results are presented in graphical and tabular formats to depict variations in velocity, temperature and concentration profiles. Additionally, numerical results for Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are tabulated. The accuracy and validity of the study's findings are confirmed through comparisons with existing literature. Notably, this investigation reveals that a higher rate of viscous dissipation and heat generation or absorption leads to a lower heat transfer coefficient and a higher mass transfer coefficient.
