Providing sufficient ductility of reinforced concrete wall sections, along with adequate resistance to internal forces, is necessary for the safety of buildings during seismic excitation. This paper describes a method for calculating the ductility of sections. The method is based on dividing the section into segments and iteratively determining the height of the compression zone. With this method, it is possible to analyze complex sections, including those composed of confined and unconfined parts, and reinforced with arbitrary reinforcement. The procedure for dividing the section and calculating the curvature of the section is described. The advantages and disadvantages of the method are listed, and an analysis of three sections is conducted. The results of the analysis were compared with examples from the available literature and with a parallel analysis in SAP2000.
