In order to maintain the excellent photocatalytic oxidation ability and improve the recyclability of Bi 5 O 7 I. A highly efficient and recyclable photocatalyst composed of Bi 5 O 7 I and strontium ferrite was successfully prepared by the hydrothermal method. The photocatalytic efficiency of Bi 5 O 7 I/strontium ferrite composite photocatalyst under visible light was evaluated by using rhodamine B (RhB) as a simulated pollutant. It was investigated that 96.6% degradation of RhB was displayed by a 10% Bi 5 O 7 I/SrFe[Formula: see text]O[Formula: see text] composite photocatalyst, which indicated highly enhanced photocatalytic activities compared to pure Bi 5 O 7 I. The Bi 5 O 7 I/SrFe[Formula: see text]O[Formula: see text] photocatalyst was recyclable on account of the surprising magnetic properties illustrated in the hysteresis loop images, and it could still degrade 81.3% of RhB after 5 cycles. Besides, it has been demonstrated that the obtained photocatalyst is a feasible approach to efficiently removing RhB, which could provide a brand-new strategy for a low-cost and effective photocatalyst to remove organic contaminants.
