A comprehensive study of the diatoms species composition and a geochronological study of bottom sediments of the two lake basins located at elevations of 27.0 and 31.2 m above modern sea level in the of the Mustatunturi Ridge area (Barents Sea coast of the Kola region) were carried out. The sediments of different genesis were identified (marine, transitional from marine to freshwater, and freshwater) in the both studied lakes.
