This study examined the relationship between teacher-training students’ permissive attitudes toward corporal punishment and their belief in a just world. A total of 300 teacher-training students from three private universities were asked to complete the questionnaire. The questionnaire was based on the methodology of Uchida et al. (2020) and was designed to assess the students’ belief in a just world and their permissive attitudes toward corporal punishment in either the bukatsu activity or the general school life situation. The results showed the negative relationship between the belief in ultimate justice and permissive attitudes toward corporal punishment in the bukatsu activity situation, and the negative relationship between the belief in immanent justice and permissive attitudes toward corporal punishment in the general school life situation.
