Electrodeposition of polypyrrole (PPy) in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO 2 ) emulsified electrolytes containing anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) has been reported. By changing SDS concentration and the CO 2 /water volume ratio, PPy films with different morphologies, such as nodular, granular, and flower-like structures, are fabricated. The PPy films prepared in the scCO 2 emulsified electrolytes show better redox properties than PPy films prepared in an aqueous electrolyte. Moreover, their redox properties are found to be affected by their respective morphologies.
