Using Montecarlo Optimization for an Improved Solar Active Region Algorithm Detection Scheme

In the present work we propose a new methodology for the automatic identification of solar active regions in solar magnetograms, that uses Montecarlo method to find the optimized filter parameters. The results not only show that it is possible to reconstruct the counts of databases, but also to a robust characterization of its shapes, yielding to the profiling of the active regions area distribution and longevity.
